Newborn sessions are best held within the first two weeks, when babies are sleepiest and curl up naturally, making it easier to capture those adorable poses. In my cosy studio, I create a warm and soothing environment where both you and your baby can relax. With a variety of soft blankets, delicate props, and gentle posing techniques, I ensure every image reflects the love and wonder of this magical time.

Mini Newborn

Photoshoot​

A Mini Newborn Session is a BABY ONLY photoshoot and is a shorter and more affordable alternative to a full-length newborn photography session. These sessions are perfect for capturing a few beautiful, timeless images of your baby in the early days. Here's a breakdown of what a mini newborn session typically includes:

 

Key Features of a Mini Newborn Session:​


Mini sessions are shorter, usually lasting 30–60 minutes. This is ideal for families who prefer a quicker experience or only need a handful of photos

Number of Photos: 5 high res digital images emailed

​

One setup - choose swaddled poses or simple, baby shots

 

​Mini sessions are more budget-friendly because they involve less time and fewer images

What to Expect

Duration

  • Timeframe:

    • Newborn sessions usually last 2 hours to allow for feeding, nappy changes, and soothing the baby.

    • Patience is key, as the baby’s comfort and schedule take priority.

​

Studio Session:

  • The session takes place at Andrea Payne Photography studio, based in Carryduff, Belfast.  We offer professional lighting, props, and controlled conditions.

  • The photographer will typically have a warm, cosy setup to keep the baby comfortable

​

  • Poses:

    • Classic poses include the baby curled up, swaddled, or lying on their tummy.

    • Some poses feature props like baskets, bowls, or beds, while others are more natural.

  • Safety:

    • Professional photographers prioritise safety. Many poses that seem complex are composites, created with assistance and editing.​​

​

  • Provided by the Photographer:

    • Soft blankets, wraps, headbands, hats, and small props.

    • Themes or seasonal items may also be available.

  • Personal Items:

    • You can bring sentimental items, like a family heirloom, special outfit, or toy, to include in the photos.

​

Parents and Siblings:

  • Photos with parents, siblings, or even pets can be part of the session.

  • Wear neutral or coordinated outfits for a cohesive look.

​

After the Shoot

  • ​Editing: The photographer may retouch photos for lighting, skin tone, and other enhancements.

  • You will be invited back to the studio approximately 1-2 weeks after the shoot to view your gallery, select package and order products etc.

Ready to book your newborn session?

Book your newborn session, after your 20 week scan.  We will book your due date in the diary.

Pay your £50 deposit, once this is received, I will send over your prep guide.

We will be in contact to check in if baby has made an appearance. Once baby has arrived, we schedule your official date for your fabulous newborn photo shoot.

Schedule your viewing appointment at my Carryduff, Belfast studio, approximately 1-2 weeks after your shoot.
